Union Raises Funds to Help BA Cabin Crew Strike
We all want the BA cabin crew strike to be over as soon as possible so that normal service can resume, but the row could be set to last even longer if the union has its way. The Unite Union have announced that they want to raise a total of £700,000 to help support the cabin crew. To achieve this they have proposed a levy on its 3000 branches.
Broken down this would calculate to approx. £60 per striking cabin crew member. This move suggests that the union are prepared to continue to fight for the jobs and against the cost cutting changes that BA want to introduce.
While the strike continues BA pilots are taking the role of cabin crew, but this cannot be a permanent solution and the longer the strike goes on the more the BA brand is damaged.
